SOLINGEN, GERMANY – April 10, 2026 – The legal department of a German company based in North Rhine-Westphalia confirmed today that the Wuppertal Public Prosecutor’s Office has initiated an official criminal investigation against attorney-at-law Mr Walid Mohammed Jalal Abdelaziz Mohammed, based in Hurghada, Egypt.
The investigation is based on a comprehensive criminal complaint filed by the injured company on suspicion of serious fraud in connection with entering into a contract (Section 263 of the German Criminal Code).
The core allegation: The accused is alleged to have fraudulently deceived the German company by signing termination agreements for properties that had previously been paid in full. These agreements assured a full refund of the purchase price. However, the first instalment due by the cut-off date of July 15, 2024 was not paid, without any reasons being given. In the view of the injured company, this occurred with the intention, existing from the outset, never to perform the contractual obligation.
The company’s legal department stated: “The initiation of investigations by the German law enforcement authorities is a decisive step. In our view, this is not a simple contractual dispute, but a calculated act of fraud specifically targeting foreign investors. We will pursue this case with full legal consequence in order to send a clear message: the German legal system protects its companies, even when the alleged perpetrator operates abroad. We consider it our duty to warn the international investor community.”
The criminal investigation in Germany is part of a multi-track strategy that also includes the following measures:
- A civil lawsuit in Egypt, conducted by a law firm recommended by the German Embassy, to enforce the original ownership rights to the properties through the courts.
- A formal professional disciplinary complaint to the Egyptian Bar Association, with the aim of initiating disciplinary proceedings against Mr Mohammed.
- Official notifications to the German, Ukrainian and Russian embassies in Cairo to warn their citizens about the accused’s business practices.
The injured company calls on other individuals or companies who may have had similar negative experiences with Mr Walid Mohammed to come forward in confidence. This serves to consolidate information and strengthen the legal position of all affected parties.
